Random Q. Why marine grade birch? I asked one of Mesa's suppliers here in Evansville IN (Moore Music) and they couldn't tell me why. They just showed me a half stack that was about $2935 and said "I need this to be loud asf" so yeah, why not Cedar? Or MDF?

Baltic birch ply has a very high strength to weight ratio.
It can be purchased certified void free.
It is a far more rigid material than those you mentioned.

If people think you're better than the headliner, then why aren't you the headliner?
If they don't, then clearly this strategy is not working.
Loud is no substitute for good.
Hey! If you just want to blow the place out just say so. We can get behind that.
A lot of folks have been mistakenly trying to help you sound better.
If that's not the goal then this has been a waste of time.
Perhaps an entertaining one sometimes, but you know how to get loud without our help.

Mein Gott! The foolish arrogance of youth. I can track my hearing damage to one gig where the keyboard amp’s 4x12 speaker cabinet was atop mine. At times I felt dizzy, sometimes nauseated. The hearing aids I now wear cost me $4000 per ear. Once damaged your hearing can never be repaired!
Probably because we've just been a band for 4 months. And opening for a place like Piere, I mean dude @BadExample knows the struggle. The music scene here in Indiana is crap.

I don't care enough to correct them, but basically ALL the specs talked about around pages 24-25 are wrong or inaccurate in some way except when taken verbatim from ampeg or hartke. Power into each side of a dual 4x10, what sensitivity and spl mean, all boned up.
Also striking toyota from the list of cars I would ever buy. Unless the op just puts the valve stem covers on the tires at the end, I don't think I can trust them any more.
Oh, and a SMART person who wants their rig to be as loud as possible wants their HEARING to be as loud as possible. And yes, whether intentional or not this is definitely a troll thread. Honestly it makes me ashamed to be a bass player that there are people out there like that also calling themselves bass players. "Aggressively clueless" does not even begin to describe it.
Oh, and you're not going to be "better" than the headliner (OR louder, and DEFINITELY not better sounding). You'll play, people will politely clap (unless you are really horrible), and then they will forget about you after about 5 minutes of waiting for the band they came to see. May sound harsh, but that's reality. Even the stories of bands like Van Halen doing that are largely overblown and usually come from the bands themselves or people who never really liked the headliner that much in the first place. Especially because all this time in this thread you've spent coming up with absolutely horrible ideas for more informed people to talk you out of, you could have been PRACTICING (after buying a good cab or 2 based on good advice from 30 pages ago). Not to mention, the dunning krueger effect would indicate that the people who think they're the greatest are usually the opposite and vice versa.

It's the damn guitars that's always get my ears ringing. Or mic feedback. That's awful when a sound tech can't dial in the vox

You don't seem to have absorbed any of the PAGES of information people have given you in this thread, and certainly haven't acted wisely on any of it. Maybe you could "give back" to the people who have helped you in this thread, and let them know what you've learned. The bonus is that will make it more solidified in your own mind as well and you will retain it better.

The music scene is a struggle all over the world not just in Indiana. As an example, I have been receiving $100 a night since the Eighties. When mentioning the cost of living to venue owners they simply try to force you down to even less. They are relying on the musician's love of what they are doing to deny them a fair income. I have many friends who play music for a living. None of them are making a living and many play in several bands to garner more income. You say that you are not rich yet. Most likely, unless you get full time employment outside of music, you never will be. That’s just a fact of life.
In the late Seventies/early Eighties I was bringing home up to $400 every time I played. Things were a bit different in those days.

I wish you did. Most of us are on this forum first and foremost to learn. I try my best to stay pretty conservative with the information I give out, but sometimes I stray too far from my wheelhouse - as I may have done. I was pretty active in those 810/2x410, sensitivity, and SPL discussions...
Maybe because you've been given pages of advice from very experienced people which you - at first - casually blow off without really thinking about it until something aligns in your head and the light bulb lights up.
Everyone here has been trying - in one way or another - to save you from having a bad experience and set you up and or teach you what you need to know so that you have a good experience.
We all tend to learn ABOUT things by reading / hearing ABOUT it - we (mostly) don't assimilate what it really means until we DO IT.
Please trust us - hearing loss and Tinnitus is NOT something you want to learn about in this way.
DO NOT blow this off without thinking seriously about it PLEASE.
You have no idea what it means to live with Tinnitus, some people go nuts and top themselves to escape, yes really.
I have great difficulty understanding childrens speach - doesn't matter? Yeh - until they're YOUR kids and Grandkids and you can't really comunicate properly with them.
