Biggest bang from the smallest combo?

... I've tried the Markbass 121P micro combo and was really impressed with the sound, size, weight and features but the cost at nearly $1000 was rather absurd.
If I could find something close to that in sound and size for half the price I'd be all over it.

.... If the Markbass 121 CMP wasn't so darn expensive I'd have already solved this problem. It's about the footprint and sound I'm after but it's pricing is crazy.

Be patient. The Markbass 121 has been on sale twice last year for $599. I know, I bought my second one at that price. The first sale was in June, and it was on sale at this price again in Dec, before Xmas.

Bargain of the day-Markbass Mini CMD 121P...GC sale 9!

Also, these come up in the classifieds about once every month or so. I have even seen nice deals on these come up on in my local Craigslist.

Carvin mb10, maybe a mb12 with the b string consideration. Works well, has an xlr out to play through a sound system so it scales well with venue size. Weighs like 26 pounds for the mb10.

I'm using a mustang 3 guitar amp with a eminence basslite s2012 in it. B string sounds great. It's 100 watts with an xlr out, foots switch, tuner, and a lot of built in amp sims and effects. I'm really happy with it but it weighs a bit more than the mb10. It's about $500 for the amp and replacement speaker.

I've really liked all the rumbles I've played recently.

The pricing is high because it's worth it, that little guy can fill a room. I love GK and Ampeg but the Rumble combos are so light and loud, that gets my vote.

I own a GK combo... the foot print size isn't that much biggger...

I own about 15 amps... have been searching for the combo you're speaking of... still can't find it... as close as I've gotten are Roland keyboard amps... they're still not tiny and/or light...

When I was buying amps a couple of years ago, the MarkBass single 12 combo absolutely buried any of the TC combos. It does everything better. The Ampeg and Fender combos were nowhere close either.

I ended up with a Euphonic Audio amp with a 12 that uses a whizzer cone instead of a separate tweeter. It has 4 band fully parametric EQ, so its very flexible sonically. Its a real pro amplifier.

The Roland cubes are pretty sweet for the low volume situation the op describes. I think they have two channels and can do vocal duty at the same time.

It's out of the price range, I know, but the Acoustic Image Ten2 is a fantastic amp. Small, light (29 lb), and loud. Also handles vocals, and has some nice effects. Good for doubling with acoustic bass or acoustic guitar.

And you can take out the head for use with other cabs. The cabriolet head slot with retainer bolts is slick.

TBers I'm kinda in the market for an ultra portable super light weight teeny little bass combo that can adequately handle a B string and be heard in a garage band or back patio practice setting. I'm not up against anything too loud, just a light handed drummer an acoustic guitar and an electric guitar playing through a 10 watt combo.

I already have a GK MB212 combo that sounds great and I could just use it but it's really overkill in size and volume. I'm just looking for the smallest footprint that still puts out a quality sound with a five string bass. All my other giging amp/cab needs are currently taken care of so no need for this one to pull any double duty, just a simple small decent sounding combo for small jam and group practice sessions. Ideally in the $500 and under category new or used.

Any recommendations?
I think Genz Benz has a little 3 or 400watt little 1 - 12" speaker combo, something like that.

Genz Benz 6.0 12T Combo Amp, 600watt head into 1 little 12" speaker, they say its a combo but its a bass head on top of the 12" cab. It is tiny and powerful.

Wow! I've never seen one for that price anywhere. I'll have to keep my eyes open. PM me if you see that deal come up again.
