Bill Lawrence P-46 Pickup mini review (BEST P Pickup I've EVER tried)!

By the way I used my P-46 on a Warmoth ash bodied P-bass/Allparts maple-ebony fretless Jazz neck after A/Bing it with A 5% over Fralin. Love the sound of the P-46
The one sound clip that I have heard sounded kind of bright. It may have been the round wounds on it though. Would you describe the sound as bright?
Sorry Viscus, can't answer your question - just wanted to give props to Bill Lawrence. My '98 Roscoe Beck 5'er uses them, and they just put out thick tone all day and all night.
If you're wondering about tone, the J-45s have two coils and use smaller wire and different core material than traditional jazz pickups. The DC resistance independently won't help compare it with other pickups. They have nice high end extension without strong emphasis to the resonance in the upper mids, with greater fundamental response.
Any one tried the John Eston P-Retro Active/Passive Preamp or the BTB-01 preamp with the p-46 PUPs?
Hopefully Getting some P-46's from Canada coming in for a build.... PMed the seller a couple hours ago...

I went with Fralins. The only reason I didn't get the bill Lawrence is because it has the extra pole pieces and it would mess up the original look of the 70's p bass.
can I presume the EB-60PB now on sale at ebay and is a blade type pickup isn't the newest design ?
