Bill Walton: RIP

He seemed like an all-around good guy. I only say "seemed like" because I didn't know him personally, but he came across as a good guy.

He's one of those "what if" athletes - what if the injuries hadn't gotten to him? Career-wise, he may have been up there with the greatest centers in NBA history, but we'll never know...

RIP, Mr. Walton.

Sad news. I just watched Joseph Vincent's newest video about Larry Bird and was surprised to learn that, despite all his injuries, Big Red played in 80 games in the 86 title season. I figured it might be half that. RIP Blazer legend.

Bill's minutes were managed very well during the 85-86 season. The Celtics led a lot of games by a lot of points so there was no need to put Walton in. They were 50-1 at home that season through the playoffs. What a joy that team was to watch.

That makes sense. Larry Bird himself said that was the best team he was a part of.

Very true all around. Excellent team. Bill played 19 minutes per game, earning Sixth Man of the Year honors in the process.
