bill wyman strap position

anyone else noticed that bill wyman always moves the strap pin to the lower horn, seems like a bad thing to do in my book any ideas why he did it?

He liked having the headstock high. Seems like a perfect solution to me.

Doesn't the bass want to flip forward?

I thought I read in an interview that he did it for the exact reason already mentioned, he wanted the headstock higher.

But yes I would think that's a constant wrestling match to keep the bass from constantly wanting to roll forward.

I'm a lefty and played some righty basses and guitars like that back in the day. It's not ideal, but it's not the end of the world either. In retrospect, I probably should have kept the strap like that on the old righty P-bass copy that was my first bass, as the neck dive was terrifying after I relocated the strap button to that tiny little lower horn (which was the upper horn for me).
