Apparently designed to put you to sleep from all the reviews so far. Anyone planning on seeing this? I'm a big Stones fan and it's always great to see any attention given to the man on bass so if I can I'll get to it.
I'm still mystified by some of his early playing with the Rolling Stones. He does some unusual octaves and things.
Wyman knew what was what: "I started to focus on playing like Duck Dunn. That's who I learned my basics from. The way to play. To leave spaces, don't be busy, don't fill it up, you're not a F**kin lead guitarist, you're a bass player. Focus on what the drummer's doing, and play, exactly, with the drums. So you've got a strong foundation there."
I really enjoyed the show, it really fit his personality and told his story with the band very well. Everything doesn't have to be a F&F movie starring the Rock after all.
I thought it was pretty decent. I loved some of his footage. It's on Hulu right now if anyone is interested.
People are [self-censored]. You do know that already, right? I just watched it. It's on Youtube. I think they hit exactly the mood that they intended. I learned a little too. Thanks for the thread.
Not to mention accented notes off the beat and syncopation. (Miss You, for example) The Stones' rhythm section was solid.
