Billy Sheehan Wiring/Model One/No tone on the pbass?

Hello all

I'm ready to modify my pbass. I have the Dimarzio Model 1. I'm leaning towards doing the two input Billy Sheehan wiring, mostly for the challenge of it and I think it's cool.

BUT

I'm confused why there's no tone control on the pbass pickup. Of the two pickups, it seems like I'd most likely want to roll a bit of tone off the pbass pickup vs the Model 1. Preferably I'd have tone controls on both of them. That would add another 2 knobs though, and an additional jack.

I was thinking I could do stacked knobs on the volume and tone. I've never used them, and they look like they might be sort of annoying, but it would save space.

Any ideas?

I'm thinking the obvious answer is a concentric 500k pot on the P bass pickup. I think on guitar that would annoy me a lot, but on bass I don't think I'd be messing with it nearly as much.

I suppose I could do the same on the model one, ditch the push pull pots and wire it to one output for now too.

Suggestions greatly appreciated...

If you want a tone knob for the p pickup go ahead and wire one in.

Sheehan's wife bass originally had a tone knob for each pickup but he never used the one for the p pickup so he removed it and thus when Yamaha made a signature bass for him that tone pot wasn't on it.

Thanks! I bought a concentric pot so I can do it with three knobs. Hopefully. That's one of 4 projects for this week.
