"Bite-sized" instructional materials?

I'm looking for a kind of instructional material, not sure if anything like it exists. I've read (and skimmed, and thumbed through) a number of bass books, and they usually seem to be quite broad and long and frequently assume that the reader is just starting out.

I guess I'm looking for sort of pamphlets, something that gives me a brief high-level overview of a bass topic with the understanding that I already have some level of general skill. In other words, a book that has been pre-filtered so I don't have to do my usual thing of extracting just a few relevant pages from a larger book.

Hard to answer that with out more information .... I suggest speed reading until you have to slow down to understand what is being said.

Ed Friedland has a way of putting words together so we understand what he is saying. Go to Amazon and pull up his books, pick the one you think will help.

101 Bass Tips: Stuff All the Pros Know and Use
Many useful, "bite size" ideas. Even split between music, technique, and gear application / maintenance.

Bass Grooves: The Ultimate Collection
My go to book when I want to work on reading. All music, many solid examples in many styles.
No scales or arpeggios

I think in general to find specifically what you need - solid musical information without 40 pages of introductory fluff- you're going to want to pick up a stylistic or player-specific "deep-dive" type of book, that focuses narrowly on the conventions of a particular style or player. Along the lines of the Latin Bass book, or Standing in the Shadows of Motown. And be prepared to absorb your "high-level overview" via osmosis and vocabulary building.

Chuck Sher's Improviser's Bass Method might also fit the bill, as the book is divided into chapters for different topics (scales, chords, rhythms, intervals, bass line creation, soloing, tune analysis, Latin...) with numerous exercises in each that can be mixed and matched as you wish.
