Nope. We've got a lead on one strong candidate, but if anyone knows of a good player who is interested, please let me know.
We're looking to:
Gig at least once a month.
Nail the sound of Oasis.
Approximate the look, but we're not fussy about facial hair...
Not rehearse much. A few rehearsals to get down a 17-20 song set and then just occasional refresher.

We'll be at Underground Lounge on February 6th at 7PM. One set opener as part of an Indie-Pop night.
I booked an Oasis tribute...about 12 yrs ago.
What struck me was they didn't have more that 1 hrs material and they were scatching for 'hits' in that time.
Wouldn't do an encore.
Now I'm no Oasis expert but a tribute of that type of band must surely be able to have an hrs worth of really well known numbers..???

I suppose that's one perspective. We've got almost an hour and a half of material and it's mostly hits. To be fair, a good chunk of the audience was Oasis fans and they were singing along to almost everything which helps the wider audience vibe I think.
Looking at the Oasis catalog, we're seeing a few more we can add and we're thinking we'll top out at just under 2 hours. If we ever get booked for an entire night, we'll either grab an opening act (Maybe Travisty) or put together a set of 90's acoustic covers and play under a different name as our own opening act.
More to the core of your post though, is a tribute supposed to fill their set with nothing but hits? I think a Tribute act should have at least a few great songs that weren't hits. Maybe a b-side or two (Ideally something a bit different from the rest of the act) or a hit(s) by another band that the tributed act was known for covering?
The crowd wasn't a dedicated Oasis crowd.
You will only expect that at a ticket event, imo...therefore you will be 'judged' on how strong your set is and how that appeals.
As I said this tribute act only felt they could do 50mins..and refused to play on.
If you have 2hrs...how would that transfer to a general audience.
If you are currently in bars, the song criteria will be judged against bar bands repertoire..which will be the majority of hits.
This goes to whether the band is a players band... whereby the appeal starts at the musicality of the band so that 'trumps' playing hits to a degree, or a banger band where its all about hits over all else.

You could maybe find some songs worth including from Noel's "High Flying Birds" albums. They had some good stuff and a lot of Oasis fans will likely be familiar with them.
I think any band that only has 50 minutes and not at least one encore tune is hosed anyway.
It was our first gig and we still did a1 song encore.
As for player vs banger I think we're going for both. We want to nail the tunes and I think the Oasis repertoire can keep banging for 2 hours.
what, exactly, is your point? Or are you just here to continuously bash another musician's good gig?
What was your tribute name? Does the BL have first rights to it? If you are looking for an alternative, I suggest Mirage (need a tilde on the e) because in the desert that Oasis you see is likely to be a mirage. There are many New Yorker cartoons that bear this out.
That smells perilously close to elitist baloney.
Players music is music players play.
Some folks turn their nose up at basic bass work but players raised on Orchestral repertoire, classic country or other such forms know there's good money and good times to be had in pounding out 8th notes.

It originally was a different name but we quickly rebranded to "Wonderwall". Easy enough to do when we hadn't had a single gig yet.
