Black Flag and Flipper are pretty jazzy.

A friend of mines brother had "My War Side Two" tattooed across his back. Him and the rest of the New Orleans sludge/doom/stoner guys based their entire musical lives on one side of one album. Pretty neat, but I like the faster Chuck Dukowski stuff myself.

I don't expect too many people to reply in this thread. I've been posting ads on craigslist trying to jam with a guitar player. I stated that I want to play punk rock, but not the poppy blink 182 nonsense and I've gotten a total of 0 replies. I stated a few of my influences including flipper and black flag and I guess nooone gives a crap about those bands anymore except a select few.

Two really brilliant bands alright, for more Jazz punk, you should check out Nomeansno ( I'd recommend Wrong or Why Do They Call Me Mr. Happy), Th'Inbred (you can get all their stuff on one disc from Alternative Tentacles), Minutemen, Articles Of Faith and Naked raygun
(their album Throb Throb is really good).

Good luck with finding some dudes to jam with, the world needs more jazz-punk.

These guys (Link Removed) opened for NoMeansNo when I saw them about a month back and were also awesome.

Italian trio of bass, drums, and sax. Awesome stuff. They play at jazz festivals, but are intensely rocking. Collaborated with many musicians, including Rob Wright of NoMeansNo, a band somebody else mentioned checking out. About ten years ago, I went through a huge "Process of Weeding Out" era. Haven't listened to it in some time, but I think I need to find my LP. There's nothing else like it that I know of.

Sweet, I'll be sure to check them out. The punk jazz hybrid is the best thing I've heard, but I find it really hard to find new bands

These bands are from seventies. I think James Chance is still doing stuff, he also went by the name of James White (and the Blacks) and did/does jazz-y, punk-y and funky stuff. Also be sure to check out Lydia Lunch's Beirut Slump. And (if you can find it somewhere) a band called Jack Ruby is also great (from the little I've heard).
