Blackstar Amplification Club

I’m in Malaysia and purchased a U500 locally.
Farts out of the box. Possibly one of the speakers have an issue.
Hopefully it won’t take too long to fix.

I’m considering the U250ACT, but why not just get a U250?

it would provide redundancy and not cost much more.
What’s the disadvantage and how should I connect them?

U250 isn't a standalone ext cab like the ACT is, I would recommend getting the ACT, I have the U500+ACT250 and it goes pretty hard.

The 250ACT just connects via xlr cable to the U500, through the speaker connect outs. Very simple.

I’m glad you got there in the end! What basses/effects are you running with yours?
FS13 and FS12 to run comp, slight drive and chorus and tuner, Dunlop Mini wah into Darkglass Alpha Omega Omicron for dirt, into a EHX canyon for delay, loop etc. Mounted on a Pedal train Metro 16 powered by a Pedal Train Volto 3 for less cables. Running my trusty old Yamaha RBX 270 with Seymour Duncan basslines, converted to Active preamp with Gotoh high mass bridge and Gotoh tuners. Will be adding at least 3 more Yamahas to the stable this year... #GASactivation

I've been using my Fly 3 Bass Duo with one of my bass ukes for the last few years with a few members of my ukulele group roaming UCLA/Mattel Children's Hospital, in conjunction with The Ukulele Kids Club playing for and with the kids to whom we give ukuleles provided by The UKC that we donated to. It's been a very gratifying experience. The Fly 3 Bass is the only unit that works so well in the circumstances, and I've tried a bunch of little amps. I'm going to include myself in this club.

That is so cool! Definite legend status.

How is everyone still liking the Unity? I'm thinking about picking up a U500 for gigging.

Love it! The U500+250ACT covers all my small to medium/large gigs and is highly flexible.

I don’t use the onboard effects, but with the ‘flat’ preamp voicing into 6550 output stage, I get very thick and articulate tone.

The 15 has way more booty than the 210- so I cut the lows a smidge and boost mids according to how I feel on the day. I prefer the clarity and tight feel of the 210 over the 115 overall. Together they make a great setup!

I found the U500 by itself to be a highly capable amplifier. It was my only amplifier for around a year and took it to some gigs that I thought it wouldn’t be able to carry- but it always did awesome.

Oh I really like the chorus. That thing is LUSH.

Thanks for the reply and 2 cents, I really appreciate it! I'll probably pick on up this week.
