Blender clean with dirty

I am planning on using my amps overdrive for half of my sound, and an EHX Big Muff on the other half. However, I don't want to just run them in line as it seems to be too much distortion. I don't want to overdrive the fuzz or fuzz the overdrive.

I was looking at the Boss Line selector, but I don't see how that one could work without using a patch cable in one of the loops when using the mixed mode.

To recap, I want to split my sound clean and fuzz and bring them back together ideally within a single box, no signal reduction (so active), and be able to adjust levels.

Any suggestions?

It uses "regular" center negative polarity.

BTW, while I use and recommend the X-Blender, the LS-2 does basic blending for less than half the price. Read the manual, and read some posts here about it, to learn more. Also search on the word "blender".

And while I did search for blender, there are either too many instances of blending DI with mic or else blending two effects. I hadn't seen a case of keeping one clean.

I also downloaded the boss manual. I could easily use the boss with a patch cable from effect b send to effect b return, which in other words would keep it clean correct?

Ideally, I wouldn't need a patch cable. Would you happen to know if I could mix the signals without having anything in the return jack for effect b?

Yes, Radial Bigshot Mix is a wonderful pedal. I use it with my Xotic Bass BB preamp. But when the blend knob is on its maximum you get only 50/50 of the wet/dry mix. You can't get a 70/30 wet/dry mix, for example, with it. So I have to raise gain at Xotic BB to get good results. This combination works!

Try a Bass Big Muff Pi. For $79.50 it is less than a mixer pedal and it does exactly what you want it to do in the "Dry" mode.

Turn the volume knob all the way to the left and it is 100% dry signal. As you turn it to the right the dry signal stays the same and you add in the distorted signal which you can tweak with the tone and sustain knobs.

I had a Radial Big shot mix with a bunch of different distortion pedals in the loop and the Bass Big Muff Pi sounds better. It also has two other modes which are full on distortion with different amounts of Bass boost.
