Block inlays on P basses - anyone else dislike them

I’m about to put a jazz neck with white blocks on my ‘79 Greco P that has developed a wicked warp.
always liked that look on late 70s jazz basses and through the light blocks might be a nice subtle touch.

I don't 'dislike' blocks on a P. IMO it can look fine.
I didn't start out to make it so, but I realized my Franken-P pictured here ended up being kind of a Duck Dunn tribute, though it still has a 1-5/8 nut (my preference on a four):
I'm also very happy that it turned out to be one of my very favorite feeling and sounding four-strings, even though I've got shockingly little actual money tied up in it.

I actually don't really like the look of blocks on Fender style instruments, but to each their own. I used to like the idea of pearl blocks but then I got a bit OCD about it matching a pearliod pickguard.
- Appearance-wise I always disliked blocked, or bound and blocked. Its probably because I’m a codger and attribute the look to the post-Leo period, but also because of the fairly unique application (until recent years) to jazz basses, which don't inspire me at all. You may be in the camp that says “Bling it on!”, but I am of a more pedestrian, work-horse personality.
