Blood everywhere...

So I just joined a fast, funky band and I just played a gig with them for the first time. It all went really well, except I cut the tip of my index finger on my left hand just before getting on stage and this was the result at the end of 2 sets. Looks kind of cool haha, but how do I clean the fretboard? It's sort of stained...don't worry about the strings they're old and replaceable.

Ouch! The few times I've had a cut or a popped blister on a fingertip I've put a Band-Aid over it and wrapped some tape over the Band-Aid to secure it.

Just spitballing it, but I'd go at the dried blood with Q-Tips moistened with isopropyl alcohol. And when it was clean, I'd oil the fingerboard.

thanks Ewo I'll have to try that, so far I've wiped it down with a damp cloth and dried it straight away, I can't see any blood but I can smell it pretty strongly still.

Too badass to clean unless you have a bloodborne disease. Also, looks like you could probably use a 4 string on this gig

Wait til it dries and peel the scab in one piece. I used to do that as a kid. It was oddly satisfying.

That actually would be quite a gimmick for a punk band - kinda like when pro wrestlers would nick themselves just enough to get the blood oozing out all over. You might be on to something here...

Superglue, that's a really good idea!
If I had the money to own multiple basses, yes I would have used a 5 string for this gig
Too late it's clean! Ordered some new strings though, I can't tell if it's the strings or the fretboard but I can still smell blood when I play (only able to use my ring and pinky fingers haha)
