This is a general statement, but Bluetooth, depending on the codec that is utilized, is limited to 250-300kbps. So, if you think you're listening to FLAC or whatever on bluetooth, you're not. Even the Apple Lightning to 3.5mm dongle contains a miniature DAC. (Teardown Confirms Digital-to-Analog Converter in Lightning EarPods and 3.5mm Adapter) I have not found any reference to the resulting kbps using the dongle, but I know of several others that you can purchase claiming higher fidelity.

I have the standard set of Eris 3.5's and they work great. I use them in my home office for mix work and general listening. My Sweetwater rep was saying that you really don't get a marked improvement in sound quality without a significant increase in speaker quality (and price).

Any digital audio source has to have a DAC before the speaker or headphone amplifier. Our hearing is analog, so there's no way around it.

I found an amazing small company called Vanatoo and picked up their Transparent Zero for my computer speaker and recording monitors… they are freaking amazing!!! Super small but the design with extra radiator puts out surprisingly clear bass.
They auto recognize input source so I can send bluetooth from my phone, input from usb from my computer, or analog signal from my Scarlett for studio monitoring.
I couldn’t recommend them any higher and if you do a little google search, you will find nothing but rave reviews… price is awesome for custom shop quality speakers
