I remember when starting as a bassist around 1982 and Blizzard of Ozz was one of the albums I wore out working on the bass lines.

Here's to hoping Sharon Osbourne gets a bad case of hemorrhoids.

Anybody know what gear he was using on Blizzard of Ozz? The bass sounds like a stingray to me but not sure.

It is not what you'd think. It was a Gibson EB3 into a Marsall 100 watt guitar amp (one of Randy's).

I played in a metal tribute band for years and I loved those bass lines from Blizzard and Diary.

I'm currently reading Bob's book and wanted to share an example of his brilliance from the song "You Can't Kill Rock and Roll" from the second Blizzard of Oz album: Check out what's happening at about 0:12 and 0:28 during the intro. What sounds like a cello is actually Bob using volume swells on his bass, absolutely brilliant and something I didn't really notice before reading his book!
