Boomy E String

I just got some new chromes put on my bass when I got it set up. It sounds a lot better w/ the setup except the E string sounds really boomy and a lot louder than the other strings. Is this the string causing this or is there something wrong w/ the bass? Thanks!

First, see if you can isolate where the boominess is coming from.

Play the bass (plugged in ;)) with both pickups @ full volume. Then, roll the volume back on the neck pickup & see what you hear. Do the same for the bridge pickup. Are you hearing the 'boom' from either pickup in particular? If so, you'll just need to lower the pickup screws on the bass side (closest to you, in playing position). Do a little at a time until the boominess is gone.

Give that a try (it should do the trick). Good luck!:)
