Booster pedal, which one do you use/like?

well hell... anyone wanna toss out ideas as to how hard it'd be to mod a Serrano Picaso with a three way switch for different trannys?
In all seriousness it would be much easier and cheaper to start from scratch. Attempting to fit the new components around the existing ones in the SP without shorting against anything... nearly impossible. But to make a basic boost circuit which happens to have two more xtrs and a few more traces, and arrange the jacks/etc. so another small switch would fit- entirely feasible and probably cheaper than buying an SP plus extra parts.

I use the GLZ-1!

The Gain & Volume knobs sort of work together. "Unity" gain (as in same level as GLZ-1 bypassed) is with Volume at max and gain at min. So think of the Gain knob as giving you +15 db of boost, while the Volume knob is 0-infinity cut.

I use my GLZ-1 to boost lower-output basses & also to attenuate one particularly high-output bass that I own... The impedance control is handy for interfacing active instruments with "finicky" fuzz boxes, but I'm not using a finicky fuzz right now....

Sounds like *perfect* to me. Hopefully I hear from Barge soon :D GAS is killing me

you are more than likely correct. but my problem lies in finding a boost circuit that i like, and using that. most everyone seems to dig the SP, so that seems a feasible option. perhaps i can find a schematic somewhere on the interwebs. hmmm...

Bump and update on my boost search:

I just got an EHX LPB-1. I didn't know that this thing was so CHEAP!!!!!!!. I might get the Barge later, but I figure 40$ isn't much to test out a pedal.

Based on the freq graphs in another thread I have high hopes for this thing.

It may even replace my Hema, which I've only used the boost section of for the last little while. I get such a nice growly tone from the sub oct on the µPOG and my jazz 5 that I almost dont need an OD
