Bootsy Collins with James Brown

His funkadelic stuff was much better IMO :ninja:

Yo TrukTek, op onions are like ice holes. Sure would seem obvious to some masters of reality that as one matures, the blend gets deeper and more sophisticate.... cat

not being iceY, just sayin' fact. But its cool,

Mr. Collins always attributes His and PFunks success to Mr.Brown. This is history in the making!! No more and no less.(this face should be purple)

Anyway, the HUGE soundstage and the Bootsy's HUGE SVT MOUNTAIN are pretty cool visuals...... as are James's thighs!:ninja:

:bassist: Bootsy cuttin' his young teeth! Funk-in It UP!

THNX for sharing man.

To me, there's no either/or. Bootsy with JB: Awesomely funky. Bootsy with P-Funk: Awesomely funky. Effects or no effects, fast fingerstyle or well-placed slap or whatever, Bootsy is Bootsy. He's incredible no matter how he chooses to play, or what gear he chooses to use.

Yes, it is. What's even more bananas is they did that stuff every night.

On a slightly different tip: Anybody else think James was more together in front of European audiences than he was at home?

Maybe.

Remember, James was at his peak during a period of intense civil unrest at home. Whether he liked it or not, he was an iconic presence in the entertainment community for the whole civil rights movement, as someone like Muhammad Ali was in the sports world.

My speculation was that European audiences during that period were not as tension filled as the crowds were on his home turf here in the USA, making performance an easier thing to do.

The bottom line is that for me, it didn't matter. He could have been a martian for all I care. I was just a little white kid listening to the radio here when all this was going down, and along with the Beatles and all of the Motown stuff, I fell in love with the music regardless of the undercurrent of the times.

OK, reminiscing and sermonizing off! Bootsy kicks booty no matter what, with or without effects!
