Boss BR-800

So, GAS kicked in and I bought myself a Boss BR-800, and so far I'm liking it! It took less than 5 minutes to figure out the basics, and I was able to record a quick tack. It's no more difficult than Reaper, and the FX are much better. It also has a built in drum machine which is pretty easy to use. It's also a 4 port recording interface that works with Reaper, or the software it comes with.

I haven't' figured out yet how to use the recordings off the unit, but it's a pretty cool unit. GC has a ton of them as open box for sale at $199. They don't have the box, power supply, or USB cable, but they aren't a big deal to get a recording interface you can take with you and not have to bring a laptop.

I'm really having a blast with this thing! I wish I had bought one of these when I first got into playing guitar! I have it plugged into my M-Audio AV-40 speakers and I use the BR-800 more than I use my Genz Benz Streamliner 600, Ampeg B-15N, and my Egnater Rebel 30.

This thing is an awesome amp, recording interface, drum machine and learning tool. I can record a track on one channel, loop a phrase, and even slow it down to learn. My only complaints about it are the touch sensitive buttons (should be real buttons) and it doesn't do a count-in for starting a recording.

Other than that this thing is a great amp, and a really fun toy!

I have had my eye on this unit so I will be following this post. But I could not locate any of the open-box units at GC...

I found two open box BR-800's at GC in Rockland MD for $199. They don't have power cables or the original media. They also aren't on the website. so you have to call.
