Boss CE-2b

So how much do you guys think those little fellas are worth?
I see most auctions end around 90€.

Most of the ones I've seen have gone for a bit less than that (in the UK). There's one in OK condition on basschat for £50 (about €60) and still hasn't sold after a few months.

A lot depends on the condition... these older boss pedals are a bit of a pain as they need an ACA PSU, so more of interest to geeks who would like shininess and a box!

I bought mine years ago for like 30€ through classifieds.
Its one of the green taiwanese production and already has a standard boss style jack.

Tried to get rid of mine through classifieds, but no one was interested, sadly. Now i'm throwing it out into ebay, and just want to know if i got a okay price in the end.

it should say on the pedal which type of adapter it needs.

The daisy chain thing

When powering a Boss ACA (old-style) pedal from a 9v PSA adapter, the LED barely lights up. This is normal and expected behaviour, since the 9 volts fed to the pedal really is too little – it wants 12 volts, remember? But when the power is being provided via a daisy-chain, with other PSA pedals in the chain and signal cables connecting them, the LED suddenly lights up as normal… What happens is that all the pedals in the daisy chain share a common ground, which bypasses the voltage limiting components in the ACA pedal(s), causing the pedal to receive the full 9 volts. This trick works with any power supply where the outputs share a common ground – daisy chain setups, DC Brick etc.

Thats prolly what 's been going on in my chain.

There is no good reason to buy a CE-2B when more modern Boss pedal will outperform it. I would look at a Boss CE-5 instead. I tested the CEB-3 side by side with the CE-5 and the CE-5 had the edge. The difference was not dramatic and both pedals sounded very nice on bass but still your top choice should be the CE-5.
Review pro pedal board and you will see this pedal more than often.

Sound-wise the ce-2 (and I guess the ce-2b) is the cat's miaow - it's a lovely analogue chorus based on BBD's. I've never had the newer digital boss ones for comparison but wouldn't be surprised if they aren't quite the same thing.
