this might seem ridiculous... but i never turn my ceb-3 off.
it's the only thing in my pedalboard that never changes...
just gives my sound a little more fullness..but not enough to be noticed unless you are looking for it... had a sound guy once tell me that he couldn't figure out why my bass sounded so full at a gig (years ago) through a combo amp... i've always attributed it to that pedal...

Well: you gotta tell us your settings now - aren't you?!
I'm pleased with my CEB-3 also. For where I'm using it, I prefer a 'vib-type chorus' over a 'multi' - that's the main difference between the two in question.
I still don't get why Boss called it a "CE ...B", which implies that it's a "
Chorus
Ensamble", which implies a multichorus - which it's not. It's a straight, single modulated delay: no-feedback, no multi-taps or multi LFOs.
I put mine between the overdrive/pre-drive (either a Deisel Dawg or a MegaDistortion into a PEQ-4) and the hard distortion (ODB-3... which also brings up why they named THAT one "OD ...B", which implies it's an overdrive - which it's really not. It's best as a buzzsaw hard distortion. Oh yeah: bag'O'glass into the wood chipper).
Mine's usually set (left-to-right, clockface convention) level=3:15; filter=either 10:30 or 11:30 (10:30 for buzzsaw enhancement or light-clean chorus, 11:30 for 'Trower tone' or heavy-clean chorus); speed=1:00; depth=12:00
..but why listen to me? ..I like ODB-3s!
