I wonder what I’m doing wrong then....
MM Stingray > comp > bas octave....nothing else. With or without comp same issue, even in the higher notes...wobble wobble...
I don't have a Boss GT1000 Core, so I might be off base here but.. you understand the difference between monophonic and polyphonic pitch effects?
Monophonic will only track one note at a time, where polyphonic will allow for multiple notes at once i.e. chords.
If your muting technique needs some work, or if you're trying to play more than one note at once, a monophonic effect will lose tracking, where a polyphonic pitch effect will be more forgiving and not lose tracking due to multiple notes ringing out.
Just reading the last few posts on the topic it sounds to me like the "Octave Bass" is a monophonic effect... and once you're comfortable with it, I highly recommend running only the -1 octave signal from it and playing around from D2 and up.
Pardon me if I missed something there. The Boss OC-3 has both a poly and monophonic mode.. i tend to use the Monophonic with just the -1 octave. Be careful with that one.. i've seen it cause some crazy speaker excursion.
