Boss GT 1000Core

Adding this AirTurn bluetooth pedal so I can run basic software functions while I play.

Ah okay, I've misled you, sorry. I meant software on the computer! That pedal can send MIDI or key commands individually, or in chains, so if you're recording in Ableton for example, it's very useful. The CORE doesn't have bluetooth, does it...but I think the original GT-1000 does, maybe the pedal could work with that.

You are correct about the core not having it and the full size does, hence my confusion. That makes sense now though that it uses through ableton. I'll need to look into that. I'm starting to build my stomp box patches for a little recording project iI'm starting with some buddies.

I have the GT1K since a week which will replace my physical pedalboard containing 3 boss pedals, the BC-1X, CE-2W and OC-3. The goals is to recreate my physical pedalboard with patches.
The GT1K supposed to have the BC-1X on board but the controls don’t match at all. The BC-1X does not have attack and the X-bass comp lacks the release control for example.

Secondly what surprised me is the bad and wobbly tracking of the bass octaver. The OC-3 tracks a lot better and the octaver in the GT-1B tracks almost perfectly. Does anyone else have the same experience with the octaver?

The parameter controls in the GTCore don't automatically match the controls in Boss's stomp box's. If you like the sound and features of the BC-1X, keep using it with your GT1K, otherwise you'll have to use your ears to match the GT1K and BC-1X.

There's a few ways to get the Octave effect. I'm using the Octave effect in Poly mode. Tracks really well. I don't use the Bass Octave effect. The Overtone effect has up and down Octave harmonics which I like a lot too.

I haven't noticed any issues, though I keep the volume of the altered notes low.

Which effect are you using? There are several effects with octave capabilities - Octave Mono, Octave poly, Octave Bass, Overtone, Pitch Shift....

I used the Octave Bass as I thought this would be the obvious choice made for us bass players. Level 95 -20 on 0 -10 on 60. As Corelli suggested the Poly tracks a lot better.
It is just that the octave on the GT-1B tracks almost flawlessly against the octave bass on the much more expensive GT1K, which surprised me.

I just had another play around with the Bass Octave effect, and it tracks pretty well. Just a touch of glitch in the lower notes.
