Even when recording, I like to have as much as possible done before it hits the computer, and this will be good for me - I have the Source C4 going into the Core, and a little mastering magic will help them glue together.

Thanks for your effort on notating this Correlli!

It was illuminating building the blocks from your notes and hearing the sound develop. You have great ears. The result is now part of my set up. :-)

The deeper I go into the CORE, the more amazing I’m finding it! It has the deep dive ability of the SA stuff, but is far easier to work with, especially on the fly.
The UI is similar enough to the Zoom platform that I felt right at home immediately. I find it as easy to program, yet sounds far better, and is far more versatile, with the number of blocks available.
I reall like that they did not go with too many specific amp models for Bass, and instead have very intuitive generic preamps. And the parallel FX chains are game changers for me!

I second this is exactly how I feel about it. Hx stomp was not a bad unit but I just didn’t feel at home with like I do with this unit. However I’ve struggle to load in my IRs kind of a big let down that it is not as intuitive in that department. But I love what I get anyways in the pedal that I forget about it.

Mine arrived yesterday. I’ve used the MS-3 extensively so the interface is somewhat familiar and the manual fills in the rest. I can say at this point the GT-1000 CORE sounds substantially better than the MS-3. I’ve just created patches using chorus, phaser, delay, and reverb at this point but the sound is noticeably richer and deeper than the same effects on the MS-3. There’s way more features on this thing than I’ll ever use but it’s nice to know I can set up 5 delays in a patch if I wanted too!

Do yourself a favor and check out the Mastering FX placed right after the cab sim. It brings the whole patch to life!

Absolutely. This is the best $$ I've spent in a long time for gear. The best Pedal by a long shot. Grizzly and B3k a distant 2nd and 3rd(But great pedals).

I played around with the Amp selections and landed on the Blues Cube Guitar input. I am also using a modded version of the Studio Bass Patch. All I can say is WOW!

The Master FX is blowing my mind as well.

This has my vote for best pedal ever.

I've been going between my Helix LT and the Core a bit lately and I spent sometime directly comparing some effects like different ODs and Choruses and by and large I prefer the ones on the Core or I can at least get exact parity between the two. I hadn't really played with the LT much since I got the bug of trying analog pedals again along with picking up the Core.

One thing that struck me right away is how easy it is to run out of DSP on the Helix, keep in mind that I have the LT which already has double the DSP power over the Stomp.

I was forced to use the second DSP track several times when bringing in certain combinations of effects. This is not a thing that will ever happen on the Core.

Another thing that struck me after focusing on the Core for so long is just how many more Amps and Effects the Helix has compared to the Core, but also just how poorly level-set those effects and amps on the Helix are.

What I mean by that is that on the Helix switching to a new Amp or Drive block can have MASSIVE output volume differences, making it a really unpleasant experience block browsing on the Helix. The Core keeps your general settings between blocks, so you never get nasty volume surprises.

Another very noticeable difference between Helix and Core drive blocks is that the Core blocks all have a clean blend option, while in the Helix very few, if any do, leading to the need of you splitting paths to retain your clean signal. This is a big oversight by Line6, but it probably is a side effect of their paradigm of trying to recreate exact physical pedals in the Helix.

On the plus side for the Helix there are some really huge advantages that I wish the Core had, the first one being the capacitive foot switches on the Helix - It is absolutely awesome to be able to quickly assign a block to a foot switch simply by touching the switch for a few seconds. The Core process is clunky and inelegant by comparison, but this is a physical difference that cannot be replicated on the Core.

Another HUGE advantage of the Helix is that the Helix computer app has an undo function! This is a no-brainer when you think about it. It is much easier to experiment on the Helix app. Boss needs to add this to the Core app!

The Helix app is also much more responsive that the Boss app, there's very little if any lag when swapping presets or changing settings.

Yet another advantage of the Helix app, which I dearly wish Boss would copy is that the Helix gives far, far more slots to save your own presets, and you nearly always have a free, completely empty starting preset while with the Core I have to choose a User Preset slot I don't like and manually zero it out as a starting point.

That all being said, I like the overall tone and the results I get from the Core much more than my Helix LT. I've been hanging on the the LT mostly because Line6 has been so great in releasing so many software updates and adding so many great new sounds.

Are you guys using the amp/speaker/mic models through a bass amp? I typically turn all of those off when playing through an amp unless I want to use an amp model as a preamp.

I’ve been having a blast with the MXR Dynacomp model; you get the Dynacomp squish without the negative of the pedal: noise, lack of headroom, and tone suck.

I either use a Yamaha DSR112 powered monitor, or IE’s. I have an SWR rig, but it may now be retired!

Yes, I plug into my TT-800. I use Blues Cube Guitar input. I am also using a modded version of the Studio Bass Patch. Ric 4003 with La'Bella LTF's. Best sound I have ever heard!
I also tried many others that also sound great. When it access for Effects return,That's what I use and when it calls for Amp input I use that.

I've got a handle on most things except the speaker sim and mic settings. Maybe it's because I have the output set to line/phones but I can't seem to access any speaker simulations. Not that I want to; I just want to turn SP Sim off. It seems like there's a mic active because when I change the mic type it changes the sound. Can't figure out how to turn that off either.

If anyone can point me to any resources, videos on any of this, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Boss GT 1000Core

Without it in front of me, get into the chain screen go all the way right. Your Sim blocks on and off IR selections etc. Have you plugged into Tone Studio with your computer? It's layout is much easier/faster to work with and helps make sense of what all is going on.

I believe you have to be set for Recording as your output for the cab sims to work. I might be wrong, but I think that is what I found.
