I'll have to check that when I get home tonight.
On a side note, does anyone know if you can turn off the 2 button activation of the Tuner? I have my Tuner on an aux footswitch, and would like to be able to turn on/off two different FX using those buttons. Hope that makes sense.
@Johno Dunn is right. Recording output setting, you can choose the speaker type. In the SP Type setting, you can turn the speaker type off when in the Recording output setting. Line/Phones output setting has a fixed speaker type. Bass Amp Tweeter/No Tweeter, speaker types are completely disabled.

Looks like tuner is always there in the background and can’t be disabled. Manual Mode you can select effects blocks in the patch using the 3 control switches. Or reassign those control switches to select some other parameter.
I just downloaded Celestion BN15-300X Bass IR pack. Comes with a whole bunch of mics, sample rates, 200ms and 500ms, tonal variations. Noticed the Mic Type, Mic Distance, and Mic Position are disabled when using a User IR.

Hey. I recently got a wild hair to try the GT-1k Core. I've been watching some vids and it looks and sounds like a super high quality piece of gear. I've been an L6 fan for a minute, and I've been using the HX Stomp for a while. My favorite feature on the HXS is the pitch shifter. The algorithm that L6 uses for its pitch shifter is quite a bit better than anything else I've tried(Digitech Drop, EHX Pitchfork, Kemper Profiler, and Fractal FM3). I wouldn't record with it, but it's more than good enough for rock 'n roll. From the vids I've watched, the pitch shifter in the Boss GT is as good, if not slightly better, BUT I haven't actually heard a bass demo. Any of you fine, upstanding bassists using that particular feature? I'd love to hear if any of you use it and how it sounds to you?

The Pitch Shifting effect are really good. There’s 5 effects that all do different things. I can put together some samples in the next few days.

Good thing for me I finally ordered mine last week, then! It just arrived yesterday. Looks like Sweetwater is showing $749.99, today.
I did at one point download the Tone Studio app to get a feel for how to edit patches, but that pales in comparison to confronting the real thing. I'm slowly wrapping my head around creating patches.
I honestly wish I could just entirely erase all the factory-filled User patches, and build new ones from a clean slate, but no.
Second disappointment: the tuner only has a limited ability to use custom tunings, and will offset only downward. This is fortunately only a minor problem.
I'm testing first with guitar, only because my bass board is currently all Boss compact pedals in two vintage BCB-3 cases, while my guitar board is a flat board, so it's easier to experiment with, but I am also moving to a similar arrangement for my bass board, with a DSM & Humboldt Simplifier Bass Station.
As you can see, the GT-1000Core is capable of replacing every Boss pedal I'm currently using on bass.

You can, but it's a slow process:
• Initialize 5-10 patches
• Create a blank liveset
• Repeatedly copy the string of Init Patches to the blank liveset
• When you have as many blank patches as you need, copy them back to the GT-1000
IIRC the "blank" patches have an amp and reverb turned on, so you might want to make a patch without anything on, and use that for your blank liveset.
This is a great tip, thanks! I got a basic template I use with the effects blocks at there default settings. Easy just to copy it over from the live set.

Meh
My patches already use a little compression and EQ, so it isn't adding that much. I also think it boosts the volume a little bit, which can throw off an evaluation.

The new firmware came out over week ago. Yoshi (Ikegami, President of Boss) did a livestream about it the day it was released.
It was the deciding factor that made me finally spend my Birthday and Xmas gift money that I've been sitting on for two months, trying to decide what to buy.
I stuck some Dual Lock on the Core and the Stone Bramble and rewired the whole board as best I could with my existing patch cables (M MAKA brand, 6/8/12") and a new 8-position DC daisy chain. I have no noise issues with the daisy chain, and 2000 mA is more than enough to power the entire board.
I had to cannibalise a few patches from my jam session board to make it all work. I could gig like this, but I don't have any gigs coming up anytime soon.
I'm seriously considering some Evidence Audio SIS bits just to go between the Core and the Simplifier/Simplifier Bass Station. Pricey, but with the SIS, the cable can come straight out of the plug.
I'm figuring out the programming, but today I figured out how the Factory Reset works, and inadvertently erased the patches I'd made for my starting positions for guitar and bass. Oops. The manual, like those for most Japanese products, leaves a lot to be desired.
I have a second USB-C to USB-A adapter coming tomorrow, so I will be able to plug both the Core and my mouse into my MacBook to make the editing process easier.
My default bass patch simply recreates my existing Boss bass pedal board.
