Boss GT 1000Core

I started using the Core with old dead strings on my bass, then I put new strings on, and wow, the thing stepped up a few levels sound wise.
You are getting my hopes up! Not that much longer to wait for me now
Yeah, bit of disappointment when I saw happening. But I was like a kid in a candy when started using it. The Tone Studio takes a while to load up too. A work around could be to write the main part of the patch in the Tone Studio, then fine tune it on the Core. I really don’t wanna upgrade my laptop just for the Tone Studio. Oh well, I think I can live with it for now.
I'd imagine they don't want to implement the full extent of the 200 and especially 500 series boxes even if they could easily port the algorithms. That'd lower the comparative value of their dedicated units a fair bit. But I'd guess their cheaper digital pedals are fully ported or at least have similar models available.
Just an update on the Boss Tone Studio. You gotta keep writing/updating your patch to the Core, to use all of the processing power of the device and not your computer. Tone Studio seems to run fine if you do that.
Did a demo with three clips featuring the Bass Amp Blocks in the GTCore. Cab block was a 2x15. Bass is a Fender P Bass Pro w/ Dimarzio Model P pickups.

These don't particularly sound like any well known amp+cab pair to me. But they're all unique and very usable sounds, I like what I hear so far.
Btw these sound quite airy and reverb-y. Especially the Natural. Is that how you dialed them in or did you have other effect blocks active? Or is it just their character?

Have to make a correction. The three clips are the three Amp Effects. And there are two Amp Blocks.
You’re right. Had a reverb on the first, chorus on the second. They’re my own patches, not presets. The Amp effects have a lot of parameters, lots of different sounds to get out of them. And the para EQ, which I used as well, has all the parameters you’d expect, ie, HPF/LPF, shelving filters, Q freq gain for the mids. The cab effect named 2x15 was brighter than the 8x10, which sounded darker to me. Going to try those Shift Line IR Packs.
Im not a fan Anymore of trying pair digital amp sounds to a well known amp and cabs. I thought the X Bass sounded like a Darkglass pedal, but then again, I’ve never owned any of those pedals. I’ve seen the discussions, it becomes a love/hate thing. No disrespect to those to those who want to compare digital with the real thing, but they are what they are, take it or leave it. Personally, I’m blown away by the sounds I’m getting. Very pleased with what I’m hearing. Been A/Bing with my analog pedals, and I was going to keep a couple, but not so sure now. The more I listen to this the more impressive X-Bass sounds for metal applications, which is often where multifx fail me. I'm very curious to hear what the box can do with the gain cranked up, or maybe an entirely separate cross-split config where you go batpoopie crazy with distortions and fuzz in the high channel.
Over the next few days, I'll make up some more clips of the three Bass Amp effects, with a spectrum of Clean to Dirt to OTT. I'll get a set flats and heavier gauge strings to dtune my bass. Cheers.

These are splendid! There's a tiny bit of that digital high end in a lot of the tones but I'm sure you can tweak it away with the IR if anything. It seems digital is finally hitting the mark even for dirt
