Detailed diagrams on page 131 of the GT-10B user manual.
Normal = a break in the chain to route out/in via Send/Return.
Mix = internal through connection from Send to return, and external loop is mixed in with 100% of original signal.
Branch = a Tee connection at the Send, Return is ignored.

So I've started to dive into the power of the assigns. I've had my GT-10B for about a week and a half and it's all starting to make sense now.

I'm still having a bit of trouble understanding how the EXP Pedal and EXP Pedal SW are separated from each other in terms of having the pedal perform two separate sweep functions per patch. For example: having the pedal be a volume control, but when the switch is activated the assigns take over and the pedal simultaneously toggles reverb on while making the pedal function only as an effect level sweep for the reverb (no volume control).

It occurred to me that the PDL FX under the Master FX "overrides" anything you assign to it.

It seems like for what I just described to work, the EXPSwFunc must be set to "Pedal FX". Also the EXP1 Func has to be set to only ONE function. Either Wah, volume, OR bend. Otherwise the second function gets "added in" with the switch.

This drove me crazy for while but I think I'm starting to figure it out. :hyper::bassist:

New to this forum and to the gt10b. As I understand it the best way to proceed is to have the manual and this forum handy which should see me through really learning to harness the power of the gt10b. My question has to do with how I can combine the gt with software like mainstage which seems to be an equally powerful, albeit geared to words a different market, effects processor. It may be overkill to have both or it may just be plain useless but I can't shake this feeling that there is a way to combine the two in a live setting to produce some awesomeness. Any one combined these two powerhouses? Any tips?

Ok so the heads up helped.... Check it. can I connect the unit to my Mac symoltaniously via USB and send/return. The USB would be used to control/edit my board via gumtowns editor while the send/return would be used to plug mainstage2 into the gt10bs effects chain. Thought?

Ok so page 143 of the user manual kind of helped square away the system for me. Here are my thoughts as a place to start off on...
Connect via USB.
Turn direct monitor off
Set computer to through (which I'm not sure how to do just yet)
Set input select to USB In
As I understand it the signal passes thru in to the computer (and potentially on to the sub outputs and so on) without passing through the effects processing. Now the fun part. In logics mainstage2 insert an I/O plugin which should interact with the send/return of the effects area of the gt10b. Depending on the send/return ratio I should be able to control the wet/dry of the signal. Gt10b ends up being a dedicated effects as well as sound card that will feed front of house as well as my own amp (and who knows what else). Thoughts?

Hmmm. Ok I'm finding this task impossible because there doesn't seem to be a way to route the signal pre-effects in to the computer. Here's another question. I'm trying to get some sort of connection between the floorboard editor and my floorboard. Iv attached a picture so you can see what I get.
The floorboard is in factory setting and is connected to computer via USB. Then I have a connection to the computer having done so in the audio midi setup in my utilities on my Mac running lion. What am I missing?

The effect unit DGT/USB is movable to any of the 18 chain positions, if you want pre effects audio, then move the DGT/USB unit to the front of the chain (drag & drop) for each patch you use for recording.

With the editor, have you selected "Boss GT10B" as the midi input and output devices from the editor Preferences > Midi/USB menu?
Has the GT-10B system setting been set to "advanced driver mode"?
As shown in your screen capture. Also the "midi Unit ID" must be set to "1" in the system midi settings of the GT-10B.

I've been using a GT-10B on and off for a couple of years. I've recently noticed that the onboard tuner is flat by about a quarter scale when compared with a Korg Pitchblack and a Strobe on String tuner that I use.

Anyone else see that? Is the tuner something that is user adjustable - I didn't see anything in the manual.

Yes the tuner is adjustable, by default in the display, you should see "440Hz", scroll to it and adjust up or down.

Hello all,

Just recently have been messing with my GT-10B (even though I bought it months ago, curse you school).

Had a question about the Channel Select. Say I want my OD/DS on in Channel A, but when I push CTL1 (my assigned Channel Select Button), I want the channel to be clean (with no effects on at all). I can't seem to be able to do this, any tips?

Quick question to you gt 10bers, which preset patch do you guys use,....and what kind of tweaking do you use to get your good sound. I am a new owner of one and was just wondering if any of you guys have a liking to any of the presets I play through a gk 1001 amp, and mark bass 410 cab.

I don't use any of the preset patches, i make my own from scratch.
I start with every effect "off" (clean slate) and add only what i need for that patch, then save it in a User slot.

I do the same thing as gumtown but I've been thinking about starting with some presets to try something new. I've only had my GT-10B for a couple months now so I'm not the most experienced GT-10b user but I've used many effects before and I know what I'm doing and what I want out of the gear I use.

But here is a sound I really like as a standard rock bass sound. I'll go though it all so you can try creating the same thing yourself, maybe analyze what I did and get inspiration from that. (I'll try uploading my actual patch later if you want).

Note: I really enjoy a Justin Chancellor type rock sound but I also really like the old Incubus sound too (think Make Yourself and Morning View). 92% of the time I play with my fingers but I really enjoy using a pick too.

I also play through a GK 1001rbii. In addition to that I use an Eden 410 XLT and the bass I'm using is a Warwick FNA Jazzman Limited Edition 2004 (an active bass w/ an active/passive toggle switch. With this patch I have the on board preamp set to passive mode).

On the amp my standard settings go something like this: Input vol about 10 o'clock, -15db pad on, contour off, Presence at about 1-2 o'clock, Everything in the EQ is at noon and I adjust depending on the room and situation. Boost at 3'oclock, tweeter all the way down and woofer to taste.

Okay now for the GT settings. I'll just progress from left to right. First switch everything off. The compressor, then, is first. Also, I'm displaying everything from the list mode as opposed to the knob display mode so I wont bother naming the parameter names, just the values. So here it goes...

I have CTL1 set to Chorus and CTL2 Set to Reverb.
And my output level on the GT-10b is at about an 11.

This sound was created as a great rock sound that fits well in my band and sounds great with fingers or a pick. It sits nice in our mix but each to his own and with your tastes and your gear you might hate it but it's one the best tones I've been able to create and one that I've been the most happy with. I created this tone with a fresh set of Ernie Ball Hybrid slinky's. I love the fullness and openness of new strings. (thinking about switching to Elixirs for this reason).

Have you moved your active effects (including OD/DS) into the Channel A chain, and left the Channel B chain empty?
Is your channel Mode set to SingleA/B rather than dual channel?
