Boss GT-1B discussion thread

I don't have my Boss with me now, so can someone help me with couple of answers:
1. Does plugging in Phones disable Output, or are they parallel?
2. Does Aux get forwarded only to Phones, or to Output also? I noticed that mix balance can be changed. Is it one mix for both outputs?
3. Has anyone successfully added on/off button? It could be usefull if you run on batteries.

Iknow #1 Parallel headphones and amp
#3 no on off so far. I removed my batteries and have my whole rig on a power strip that I turn off

Glad to see some gt1b love here!
It's a fantastic unit! I ended up selling all my pedals!
I exclusively use the gt1b for my own personal bands and for all my recording musical projects of various styles....you can do everything with it!
It's just simply amazing.

I am a rookie to all of this, glad I stumbled on this unit though. We've got tons of questions.

It's a great unit for sure. Before it, I had Zoom MS-60B, and believe it or not, I bought it and sold it THREE times! Flexibility was amazing, but sound just wasn't good enough for me. Boss GT-1b sounds better to my ear, although I still havent gigged with it.
My pedalboard is also gone year ago, and hopefully Boss will replace it. Couple of good synth sounds and modulations is all I need.

So... doubling up distortion pedals is not a good idea lol. I had the muff fuzz going on the GT and beefed it up with the clean M80 eq. Figured I might see what adding a little more dirt with the m80 distortion might di, it not only sounded like ca ca the feedback was immediately ear piercing! Oops.

AUX went to both my headphones and amp. Tried it out this morning. I like that a lot, I would guess I could use a BT adapter into the AUX for an in ear monitor?
Tnxs, I was hoping AUX is reserved for Phones. That way, Output can be used bass-only for mix desk, and monitor can go to AUX so that personal mix can be made for Phones...
I guess that can be solved by adding a small mixer, but that defeats the idea of all-in-one device.

hahahaha, I love the MXR but the distortion sounds good for me when using a pick only, I use it as a booster, muff fuzz sounds great on this thing.

I dug up my old Toshiba laptop Win Xp with the Firewire solo but that was a fken fail, I had it running fine since 3/19 but now it took a dump. Tired of that firewire crap. I am running my GT1B into my PC with Abelton but looking into a A/D Converter.

What are you guys using for recording Analog into Digital? Focusrite, MBOX etc..

I'm looking at focusrite and presonus but I just heard about the MOTU M2. And I think I'm going to go that route. I use ableton and it's supposed to be set up for it. I'm going to use the DI out of my amp since my compressor is behind the M80.

I got the GT 1 for my guitar setup for my recording projects. My main instrument is bass, and I have a pedal board designed for bass. But I do have a Boss LS 2 and a Rolls tiny crossover, so I will experiment with the GT 1 through the bass pedal board at some stage.

Edit: just plugged my bass straight into the GT 1 and had a listen through my studio monitors. Definitely lacking that fat bottom end.

How doesit compare to GT-1B? I guess no bass amp sims, but effects/pedals? Same or more?
I have bass version, but don't care for amp sims, I just want digi pedalboard.

I like that M2, cheap $$. I’m pretty content with track bass, drums, keyboard with the abelton (I’m stuck on the stevie wow keyboard setting in abelton) but I need that harmonica and horn section track so I’d like that M2.

Was it possible to blend some bass from the other line with the LS-2?
