Boss GT-1B discussion thread

Adding the compressor made the biggest difference over all. The M80 gives me a great dirt tone that I love but for drastic overall impact the M87 has been a game changer.

Was there a huge or small difference when you had the M87, M80 at the end vs. what you have now. I’m trying to arrange the m80 at the end so I won’t use my amp at gigs and just go to the mixer

The difference is the amount of adjustment I have to make when I use a different effect patch. At the end is can find a good place that i don't need to touch it again, in front I had to tweak settings as I changed effects. I would say you'll probably be fine with it ahead of the GT. For clean tones, I am loving the GT bypassed with just the clean tone and EQ of the M80 filled out by the M87.

@elpancho Also there is no comparison between the enhancer PEQ or GEQ and the M87. The M87 is on another level. Not to sing too much praise on the MXR stuff it's just what I have. I'm sure any quality compressor will do great things.

I’m already running a dbx compressor in the rack with an svt 4 pro so it’s going to be the pedal or the rack but I say pedal so I can just carry the board.

You can use your amp as playback just match buffer it sound great coming out of my 410/115
I use my BA 210 as monitor and sounds good but when i use a backing track on channel 2 of mixer i have to go -50 on input and +10 input on channel 1 of mixer with my bass to get balanced sound. USB settings is mix level is 25 , efx out 200, direct monitor on. Not sure if i have latency seems more like notes cutting in and out instead of a delay.

Ok, I've placed the M80 in front to maximize the noise gate effects. M87 out back set unity gain. GT1B works really well in the middle as a stomp box. I picked up the TRS cable I needed to use both foot switch buttons too.

@nuage420b,

How did it sound with compressor first and M80 last?

Made it tough to set the different pedals up. The OD out of the gt1b for instance just didn't sound good. But using the m80 up front for clean EQ and noise gate then adding the OBD2 from the GT and then ending with compression got me a really nice metal tone. Almost modern but still more thrash with full mid and enough bottom to remind you you're there for BASS.

I don't have my Boss with me now, so can someone help me with couple of answers:
1. Does plugging in Phones disable Output, or are they parallel?
2. Does Aux get forwarded only to Phones, or to Output also? I noticed that mix balance can be changed. Is it one mix for both outputs?
3. Has anyone successfully added on/off button? It could be usefull if you run on batteries.
