Boss GT-1B discussion thread

Ok. Messing with a new path.
Bass-->M87-->M80--> Amp GT1B in the effects loops with
Flanger, phaser, delay, reverb, and "preamp" that I won't use and over drive I won't use.

Seems a little easier to EQ using the bass. I set each pedal to just be on and off with no tweaking required. The amp set with a little bass boost and little high cut flat mids to attempt to be transparent ish. Now i can use the on board pre to fine tune without having to goto the board or have the laptop running.

Looks good, did you get the footswitch for the Markbass? You can use it as a mid boost in case you're not cutting thru live, that what I do for my SVT 4

I actually just came home from the store with it. I needed more patch cables and some other routing options. Got some more pedals coming as well and changed up some stuff.

I saw i could use the OD as a para eq, so since I'm using the M80 and I have a very very angry dirty pedal en route in order to free up an extra stomp I went with that. I have my 1 and 2 patches set up to allow for different style stomps.
Patch 1 has the Para, Flanger, Phaser
Patch 2 gets really funky with the octave, Synth, and a nice Boost. this is where I'll probably use the foot switch for the amp the most to turn on the "old school" setting for a big boom deep sub bass tone.
I don't really need the "millerizer" since I've already done that with the other pedals.

I also have an LS-2 coming with my dirt pedal to open up even more windows. I've been spending tons of time listening to pedal demos through my bass amp of stuff the GT1B is replicating. Then spending hours making it sound close or the same. I think I'm getting a pretty good crash course in effects processing. I am also buying some of the pedals but only the type that aren't in the GT1B or I can't fully utilize within the GT1B as I can using the analog pedal. The GT1B is certainly not leaving the mix and will be my stomp source for a lot of effects, mostly those that I only need to use lightly.

Within time you can also make another set of stompbox as you have now. I have like Four settings for stomps as I switch thru them with the knob. Sometimes my foot accidentally triggers the knob and it changes the setting into like patch P089, then I just use the UP patch button and it takes my all the way back to my U01 stomps and it stops there. You're going to love it. I set the first knob into patch up/down, the middle knob BPM for Delay and Phase, last knob is master volume.

1st Stomp settings - Enhancer, Bass synth, Muff Fuzz, Delay, Reverb, Bass Wah/Volume Pedal

2nd Stomp Settings - Enhancer, Phaser, Muff Fuzz, Delay, Reverb, Pitch Shifter/Volume Pedal

3rd Stomp Setting - Enhancer, Overtone, Muff Fuzz, Delay, Reverb, Bass Wah/Volume Pedal

@elpancho holy crap I didn't even think of setting the middle and last knobs. I have the first knob doing the same and yes I accidently kicked it a few times accessing my m80. I'm still working out the kinks as far as access and not accidentally hitting other sets.
I'll need to play with enhancer, maybe what I'm doing with the para eq is what the enhancer would do.

I messed with all the EQ's, parametric and graphic, it didn't do anything for me. The enhancer worked best. I found this setting on P80 Finger, it had Enhancer and Tone Modifier.

That Acoustic looks lonely. You should run your right output over to it and give it some love. Looks like it might have a 15" in it.
It's a 12" 50watt right now i have my laptop into the aux and I'm using it to listen to pedal demos. My dumb logic is it would sound closest to what I'd be getting. I hadn't thought about stereo...

So, I have a gig report. Small open air club, limited no. of people due to corona (about 50). I played my Fender AVRI 75 Jazz and good provided amp+cab (Warwick+Peavey). I ran Boss on rechargable batteries (2500mAh capacity).
I used 4 patches: one clean, one scooped (NY Slap) and two synthy ones. First, provided Bas Synth FX does not track well with my Jazz, probably because it has lots of overtones. So I built my synth patches, using Fuzz, T-wah, Preamp (to tweek the sound) and lastly Chorus for one patch, and Tremolo for another. I set that Chorus on a switch for extra zing, and Tremolo on a Expression pedal, so I can introduce it on longer ringing tones. Very retro funk!
Boss performed great, sounded great and gets top grade from me.

Congrats on both the happy performance and actually playing to people!

Thanks, it was quite a pleasant surprise. Three guys from my band (guit, keys, drum), all seasoned pros, were in for a simple instrumental jam session but it turned out folks wanted to hear us. We showed up without a list and played improv for two hours - fusion/funk/dance/latin mostly. I saw some band friends recording with cell phones, I'll make a gig report if I can get my hands on those videos.
If I don't count couple of rehersals, this is my first gig this year.

Okay, now you're just rubbing in in... :D

I'm glad to see a bass brother out playing live, like we all wish.

I hope you get many opportunities and keep on keeping on! Keep us informed, and may you have many great gigs going forward!
