Yes definitely!
Ok, great! Now, when guys are talking about "patches" these are the pre-programmed and user-programmed combinations of the various included effects, correct?

You can think patches as your full rig (head and cab, pedals). So you can set up all your "gear" on one patch and go straight through PA for example. At least that's my way to do it and I'm using the boss gt1b that way.Ok, great! If you're gonna use your gt1b with an amp you can set up your multi effects like a classic old school board. In fact, there's a lot of ways you can set it up.
I have only really wanted compression, octave, and chorus. Maybe flange and digital delay to "play around with". Does the Boss GT-1B fit that bill?
Thank you! One more stupid question and I'll leave you alone:
A poster to this thread said he was going to get one of these:

and use it to "go stompbox" with the multi-effects. Does that mean the three large square buttons with the blue LEDs on the GT-1B are not programmable but the above-mentioned footswitch is? Or are they (the three buttons) just not meant to be trodden upon?
Yep they are programmable! Third button even can do up to 6 things at once (change gain on od/change preamp...you get the idea) and the first two buttons are just on/off switches...Thank you! One more stupid question and I'll leave you alone:

ALL the buttons, including the volume pedal are programmable. To most easily create sounds, download the PC software and connect via USB. It's far easier than using the panel buttons.
Wonderful! Thank you for your input; it's been a great help! When I get the board, I will make certain to get the latest version of the software as well.
One thing to be aware of is that it can’t go fully stomp box. Due to the way some effects are grouped within the FX1 and FX2 sections, certain combinations are not available to be independently switched in and off. I have the FS7 external pedal and can get most things to work in stomp box mode.Wonderful! Thank you for your input; it's been a great help! Unfortunately, you need to study the manual

I now just use two sets of stompboxes, I switch each patch with the knob. I've gotten into Assignments now where I can assign CTL2 on my FS-7 and turn on 5 effects at one time. This thing is awesome, but I feel I will move on from this as I found what effects I really want. However, still a great device for beginners.

I don't consider gt1b a device for beginners...in fact I guess it's the best modeling/multi fx for bass guitar on the market. I've recorded and gigged with it and ive never got a complain or bad commentaries related on how its sounds. Just the opposite.still a great device for beginners.
I use a generic power supply 9v same specs as boss. Works greatJust thought of another question: Are y'all using the Invalid Link RemovedInvalid Link Removed or will an aftermarket A/C adapter be sufficient?
