Boss Gt1b VS Digitech Whammy

Hello friends,

I wanna have fun with a really expressive whammy effect.

I was almost buying digitech's whammy when People start recomending me Boss gt1b.

If Boss gt1b is as expressive as digitech's whammy, I belive it world be the best choice due the whole package it offers.

Can you guys help me to take and informed decision?

Does Boss gt1b offers a whammy, pitch changing, harmony and octavator as expressive as digitech's?

I like the second one more than the first, but the description of the first one says you can go up five (!) octaves.
It looks like these things are $220 new, and it's got a built in looper. Seems like a lot of bang for the buck, Boss isn't messing around.

The Bass Whammy is worth the size. The pedal is super comfortable/durable and MIDI is the only way.

What does MIDI do?

MIDI lets you remotely change the patch you are using. It can also allow you to use the Bass Whammy to shift pitches up and down without touching the pedal. Depends what controller you're using, but I can make my Bass Whammy do otherwise physically impossible things. I use ZOIA's for MIDI PC/CC.

Just checked the gt1b. No MIDI is reason enough to not buy it. I don't care what it sounds like. If you play with anyone else who uses modulation/delay (so technically all delays) you need a MIDI clock. It sets a universal tempo. That Boss floor unit seems robust but lack of MIDI is complete "ick" factor.
