I've had my MIT version for some time and found a MIJ at a decent enough price I picked it up as a backup.

And I do not find a tonal difference at all between the two.

How much different is this from the oc-3? The oc-3 is essentially the same pedal with more. IS it just that the oc-2 is cheaper? Or does it actually sound better? I'm pretty happy with my oc-3.

My oc-3 wavers when the tracking get's poor, like it's going in and out of the lower octave.

The OC2 is one of the few pedals that I've kept over the years. I love it for sure....just got to use it on a record this weekend....OC2 with some drive from a Blueberry....it sounded incredible! Great pedal indeed.

Thank you, that may be the answer I was looking for. My OC-2 just crackles now and then, sometimes to the point I have to remove it from the signal chain. I never understood what the cause of the crackle was, it may be due to this tracking problem.

Though actually, now I think about it, I'd sooner think the tracking copping out and the crackling may both be symptoms of something else. Does your OC-2 also cut out from time to time? Like, working fine when on, then cutting of the signal completely (COM-PLETE-LY!) when you switch it off? This happens to mine sometimes, the only way to get the signal back, is to step on the pedal again, and then switching it off again.

These are not problems I want to have to deal with in a live situation. They bug me enough to think about replacing the unit with an MXR Bass Octave Deluxe (another pedal I'm very much looking forward to play on). Shame though, I really liked this pedal. Anyone know if these issues may be fixed?

I got mine today. It's pretty nice but one thing I have found is that I get a wierd effect when I play long open notes. Almost like the effect itself fades out the fades back in. It sounds a little bit horrible anyone else get this??

Always...it was never designed for sustained notes.

This pedal was designed over 20 years ago and I still don't know of an octive pedal that will sustain notes any longer than the OC-2.

you know.....when i first got mine. i plugged it in and i got like some intermittent noise....i thought it was my cables. but then it went away so i never paid attention to that again figuring it was just some freak occurrence. but now that i'm building my board i found that it happened again.....so hmmmm. i have no idea now. hopefully it just stops for good hahaha. but yeah....it actually has never like gone out completely. only get this crappy static-y intermittent noise. it isn't like a warble or bad tracking noise but a weird like f'd up cable noise haha.

That sounds like a jack might be going bad. Just curious are you using Monster cables?

Aside from the fact that they are overpriced, snake oil and corporate bullies....nope.

Oh yeah....I'll take a number. I'm really beginning to embrace the OC-2. I love this synthy sounding little pedal.
