boss powerstack getting feedback

i just bought a boss powerstack pedal for my rig.

im running an ampeg svt 350 head and an ampeg 810e cab..

i am getting a decent nice tone but wayyyy too much feedback..


any suggestions?

how should the settings on my head be to run well with the pedal?

and should my gain on the head be low / high?

What kind of feedback? A microphonic hi-pitched squeal, or "good," sustainy feedback? If it's the former, it can be a number of reasons.

Lower the gain on the pedal and start there

I'd start with the amp clean/gain down, and the gain down on the pedal. Also, the pedal's level should be about equal (or just slightly above) the clean sound on the amp. Try that first, the slowly fiddle with the controls--one at a time.

its a microphone high pitch annoying feedback, ear shattering.

Could be too much gain, too much treble, you're too close to your amp or you pickups just won't work at the ultra gain levels you are trying to get.
