Oh it's gonna be a tight battle!!! Who will win?!!!!!

Battle of distortion: Boss wins easily. The DigiTech Bass Driver is the worst distortion I've ever used (and I've tried a fair number of distortions as well!) The ODB-3 isn't the best in the world, but at least it sounds good and is useable.

But that's how it goes--each company has some great products, each company has some crap products.

For Boss, I have an ODB-3, BF-2, and DD-3. Love 'em all. On the other hand, I have a DigiTech Bass Synth Wah, DigiTech Whammy 4, and a DigiTech Talker.

Three by each for me... Some good, some bad, just buy the best regardless of brand.

In your death match I use none of the effects mentioned however I do use a boss syb-3, oc-3, os-2, dd-20, dd-6, and ps-5. For digitech I use the digidelay, Hyper Phase, Turbo Flange, and Digiverb.

I like the fact that the digidelay has an analog setting where as the dd-6 does not but I seem to get better sounds out of the dd-6 without having to try, and the church setting on the digiverb is phenominal.

You forgot the Battle of the Synthesizers!

Boss SYB-5 Bass Synthesizer
Digitech Bass Synth Wah

From what I've tried and heard, the Digitech BSW takes the cake on the Synth wars.

Now, if you bring Electro-Harmonix into the picture... it wins every time :D

I wasnt too hot on the BSW, I've heard alot of people hate the SBY-5 (or 3 for that matter) but I use mine for long swelling noises not for normal synth use. I couldn't get that effect out the BSW when I was trying it out. PLus it was only like $40 so you can't beat that.

And yes EHX would win by far.

I have the BSW and used to own a Bass Chorus from digitech.
I find that they are tone suckers compared to Boss counterparts.

However, you can get rather interesting sounds from BSW... but i hate it when i cant control the output volume and its very much hotter than what comes into it.

For standard pedals, BOSS wins easily, but I'm talking about pedals that go beyond the ones mentioned. The only Digitech I really like is the Whammy IV and BOSS has no equivalent.

Do DOD pedals count? If so, I have an original DOD Bass Grunge that blows away every other distortion/fuzz pedal that I've played.

Boss for the Chorus defo, when i bought my boss chorus, i actually tried out the Boss and Digitech side by side. Erm, i dont like either of the distortions, so cant say, and as for compression, i havent tried either of them out, but i would go with the Digitech as it is a dbx in a box.

so i guess that is 1 all

The CEB-3 sounds good and I'm considering it for my chorus pedal. The Digitech Bass Chorus sounds good but it drains the battery real quick.

I own the ODB-3. It gets the job done and it keeps the low end intact. It's got a lot of OD to fuzz sounds and very versatile whether you're laying down the groove or soloing.

I also own the LMB-3. I've tried different compressors - Bass Squeeze, MultiComp, Compulator, White Finger. The LMB-3 works best for my basses and my setup. I've also used the LMB-3 for recording.

I thought I'd post here concerning the Boss ODB-3 vs Digitech Bass Driver.

I'm really looking to buy a pedal really soon and these two seem to be hot contenders. I would like to know who think's whats best for ym type of music which is rock, indie, alternative. I most commonly play Muse and am in a band which plays mainly rock/indie.

Please Note: I would go to a music shop nearby but can not find the Digitech Bass Driver anywhere around here so I am ordering online.

Any other suggestions would be welcomed but this is the pedal price range I am going for.

I voted Digitech because their chorus is awesome. As for the other categories, I find them to be about the same. Neither Boss nor Digitech would be my choice for distortion or compression. I've owned almost all of the pedals mentioned and the only one I would consider buying back is the Bass Multi-Chorus.

Personally I like both companies' stuff a lot but not any of the pedals listed in the first post. I had a OD-3 for years and didn’t use it all that much but every time I did I found something else I didn’t like about it coming to hate it last year; you can get a ok sound from it but it takes a LOT of tweaking and if you bump the knobs you have to find the sweet spots all over again in less you mark the pedal or set it and rap it in ducktape, I have no interest in ever playing through one again.
