I'm referring to the original Bossa preamps. GZP-2
Oh, that's really different!...this older GZP-2 is actually coming from TUNE basses...just like the great bridge!

thanks so much guys.. i plan on doing some recording with it soon so ill uploads come clips.. yeah the bass is the lightest 5 string i've ever felt.. that light ash body is super light..
They are made in the Philippines... Some really good wood but the rest crap. I think the owner is making them there for a different price point only..Indeed there are Bossa Tribute's up on Ebay...and I understood from the owner of Bossa..he's quite annoyed about this fact, as they are simply copycats and not officially licensed by Real Bossa Design, Japan!...seems they had been first build in China & now coming from Korea/Taiwan?...their quality is sure not high-end & identical with the original Bossa's!...though more affordable, they are lacking the better wood, preamp & hardware options of the originals...that's what I know so far & I could be also wrong..![]()

Thanks, that is good info. I am really digging the OBJ-5. RegardsIt's an OBJ-5. The UJB is a different body shape, closer to a Jazz Bass, and runs 21 frets instead of 24.

I have a UJB-4 that's 790123. Color is similar, but electronics are completely passive.Cool looking Bossa!
I have a Bossa Ob-5 that ends in serial number 04.. I’ve always assumed it was made in 04 - With yours ending in 01, I’d assume it was made in 2001. I can’t be entirely certain tho, just guessing... Old Bossa’s are great basses & getting harder to find, & I love them.

Love that color, & I bet it sounds killer with a Pope pre!
