Bottle neck slide bass

yup, title says it all, so ive been considering doin some bottle neck sliding on bass, i just wondered if anyone else has done it and if so what kind of slide have you used? i know that this is one weird ass post, but im just looking for a new sound, so just help/opinions are welcomed! thanks! :help:
 
nope...no idea, but i'd like to know how it works out for you.

I've talked to a few slide guitar players about it, and they all said: "Get a fretless"...frets are too close on a guitar for fretless guitar to really work, so they have to use a slide to get what you can do with a fretless bass...Still, let me know how it goes:)

I use something like a pedal steel bar, and use it in either hand depending on what I'm going for. Mine is made of soft brass and is heavy enough to do all the work for me. Currently I'm using SIT Silencers.

I can't help but wonder what it would sound like using a slide and an e-bow.

Very intuitive this , because your finger isn't dampening the sustain , the slide lets the note ring out longer , plus if you tap the upper horn on your bass and add vibrato it 's extended again.

We need an e-bow that rings 4 strings instead of just one.
