Bought my first cab today

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Metaldood19, Nov 23, 2012.

  1. I've been using my vocalist's Carvin 810 forever (I'm a broke music student attending NAU) and finally picked up my first cab today. Ampeg 610HLF for $550. The guy that owned it just wanted to make room in his garage and apparently used it lightly since he bought it less than a year ago. It has slight tolex wear on the left but I'm fine with it. Needless to say I'm VERY happy right now.

What amp are you using to get those bootays shakin'?

Sweet cab...played one for years with an Ampeg SVT 3 Pro. I bet a 7 Pro, or PF500 would pair great with that cab. Great find ! Congrats!!
  7. Thanks everyone :). I'm just glad I have a cab to call my own now (the fact it's a cab I've been gas'ing on since I was 17 is an added bonus).

Looks beautiful just needs a SVT-CL to cover those holes up :)
  9. Pardon my ignorance, but what's tolex?
  10. The black protective cover that's on the outside of the cabinet
  11. Nice find, enjoy your new cab.

How's Flag this season, getting hit with snow yet?

I lived and gigged in Prescott for a few years, I'll be back to visit in Sedona for X-mass
  12. Thanks man!

It's cold as balls dude. We got hit with an inch or so of snow about three weeks ago. We're supposed to get hit hard this winter. I'm not entirely stoked for that, waking up at 6 to go to work in 10 degree weather is already killing me. If you're ever in town hit me up and we can jam or something, that'd be rad.

Good score. Nothing like getting your first excellent big cab. I'd get a cover for it right away. It's in too good a shape not to.
  17. Agreed. Looking into live in cases ASAP. Being in a heavy gigging band will take a toll on it quick
