I'm looking to duplicate a bow I have that's seen better days. It's an odd one off with an oversize German frog. I haven't found anything similar ready made so it needs custom work. I don't need a world class bow so I'm looking to find an advanced student or someone starting out that would like to take on a job that's a little unusual. Any referrals/resources will be most appreciated.

Yes, thanks much. I got the bow from Rock. He doesn't do bows any more. Evan has his own shop and doesn't make bass bows. Eric is very busy, especially since Kolacny Music closed two years ago. Eli Acosta from Kolacny's is still around. He works for Bob Ross part time as well as his own commisions. I don't think he makes bows. Vingo declined the commision because the frog I want isn't standard. The North Bennet Street School sound like a real good tip. My appreciation to you.
I can’t find the the text where they said it had a larger frog now, but I’m sure it was there at some point. Ask them, I guess?
I met Eric a few times when I lived in Boston. He was really nice and a fine player too.
I got the Eric Lane bow on a trial this week. It's real nice and the frog is oversize, but not as large as mine. I could use it but the edge at the bottom of the frog is sharp against my palm. I'd have to have it rounded off and I don't really want to modify something I spent $4000 on. I've been talking to a place in Chicago where I can get one custom fit for $2K to $3K so I think I'm going that way. Thanks for the info.
Evan has moved around. Currently cohabitating with Denver violins in the clock tower bldg downtown on 16th Street. I thought he was still making bass bows? His rehairs are the best I've had in the Denver metro area.
