Shut Up n' Play Yer Guitar was my first — licorice pizzas — once upon a time.

Don't have many at all. Not my thing. I did get a box of Bonzo Dog Doo Dah band's offerings, opportunistic, secondhand. And a swag of Simply Red CDs in a set, not so long ago. And, prior to that, the Japanese Zeppelin box set came my way — the one with with all the shrunken LP covers. That's a genuine treasure. That's probably it.

If it's a Motörhead set, likely Todd Singerman will stand to profit the most, and Linda Ramone probably gets most of any Ramones sales.

I like my Henry Mancini box sets, I'm a sucker for that cinematic stuff. I have a small Howard Shore set as well.

If they ever make a Derek Bailey or Anthony Braxton box set, I'll be into that. Or an Eric Dolphy set. You may sense a theme.

All of their studio recordings, all remastered, plus some rare live tracks, all on four discs. REALLY good.

EDIT: My favorites on it are the inclusion of the tracks "Someone To Talk To" (an Andy Summers track that should have taken the place of "Mother" on Synchronicity), "I Burn For You", and "Once Upon A Daydream".

I scored one of these in a little paper shop on the southern side of Chatswood Station, remaindered. Should've picked up all five. Cost me bugger all, mint disk (minus the punch-hole), still in their wrappers. These fetch a pretty penny today.

ha! i don't remember what all of them were (i gave them all away), but they were mostly jazz. i can't even remember the last time i bought an album (except friend's efforts).

correction: i still have some box sets of sound effects on CDs. all i got!

Not counting double disc “best of” or compilation titles…all of Rhino’s Nuggets series, their all encompassing Cowabunga! surf music set, their No Thanks punk rock set, their two 50’s rock sets, their Where The Action Is L.A. Sunset Strip era box, the second Byrds box, Velvet Underground’s Peel Slowly And See, Loaded, and self-titled 3rd album sets, The Jam’s Direction Reaction Creation, Echo and the Bunnymen’s Crystal Days, all the major Hendrix sets, Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, a number of Yardbirds collections(including the fascinating ‘68), Scott Walker, Serge Gainsbourg, This Mortal Coil, countless blues, jazz, swing, rockabilly, hillbilly boogie, honkytonk, Jamaican reggae/ska, 60’s garage/freakbeat/psych/sunshine pop/baroque pop, British folk V.A. compilations, and Harry Smith’s Anthology Of American Folk Music. That’s just for starters.
