Brand new basses for $30?

A couple of years ago a whole crapload of people here bought a bunch of 20 or 30 dollar basses. Every one of them lost their money. Can't remember what the thread was titled... but if it happens again here, don't say you weren't warned :) .
None of us lost our money who used PayPal or similar services and that thread was fun to be a part of.
That being said, I wouldn't chance this one with all the rules attached to it.

It's surprising that anyone could build even a really crappy bass and sell it for $30. The production cost with labor and materials and shipping would have to have a wholesale price of about half that.
If it does happen, you might see them in WalMart or on eBay, but not in any music stores. It isn't worth the floor space and staff to sell a product that likely only nets them maybe $10 at most and will likely be returned within a few days.

I am old enough to remember entry level instruments in the late 1970's. I can tell you they sucked pretty bad. And they costed more than $30 even back then. So keeping things in context, I would bet this bass is not terribly bad for the intended market. I find it strange that every person here who has declared it a pile of firewood has likely never even touched it.

I was thinking of that one, too.

That was a good laugh!

If I recall, the buyers got their money back. But not their personal data.
