Laptop anyone? You can record your show with a board mix using audacity (freeware) and use windows media player or similar juke box to play tunes. Or friggin' wave files if it makes you happy. I do agree with the bigger the rig the worse the mp3's sound though. I use wave files simply because my "giggin'" pc only runs music, recording, and band business expense spreadsheets. I bought it for $300 and does the trick.

Another suggestion is to use higher bitrate mp3s. 192+
