breakdown on my Eden WT800

Hi all,

First of all let me apologize for my English.

I am investigating on an issue I have on my favorite Amp.
While I am playing the sound decreasses slowly, till I have no volume at all. And then it increases.
Same problem with the DI, so I guess it is a preamp issue.

It is a bit disturbing if I am on stage .
During this, the leds of the equalizer are all lightening red.
I thought it was the tube that was KO but after changing it same problem occurs.
Do you have any idea of where does this come from ? Is it a "typical Eden WT" problem ?
is expensive to fix that ?

Does the problem occur if you are plugged into effects return?

Depending on the version, the symptoms point to a power supply issue that is causing symmetry offset of the normally balanced supply. That said, there could also be other causes.

A QUALIFIED service tech should diagnose correctly in order to identify the actual cause and thus the proper repair.

If I plug in the "pre fx" pb still occurs
If I plug in the "post fx" left or right no problem occurs (no settings possible : bass , trebble , ...)

Does this show that the preamp is sick ?

Plug jumper from effects out to effects return and plug bass in normal input and see if problem is still gone

You mean make a bridge with a jack wire between send and return ?

if it’s still having a problem with the jumper, then it’s on the preamp side. Does it have a tube?

Yes it has but i haved already changed it. Thought it was the root cause, but not

Hope you can get it fixed. I have a WT550 from 1998 and I still love it. It lives at our band practice space and I get the urge to use it live every time I play it. Multiple amp problems….

I had a question, they replied immediately that they were looking into it and I got an answer from the factory engineers 4 days later.

Video of a problem I had on my WT500 years ago. Reflowing the solder joints for the high wattage resistors fixed the issue. May be helpful.
