Brian Bromberg Carvin Model Part 2

I don't remember seeing any of these with maple boards. Does anyone here have pics of one? Just curious how it would look, with the overall design.

*maple board with a body/headstock that isn't also "natural".

No straight-up natural/naturals, but here are some maples from Brian's B2 bass page on facebook.

It's here already!! The Hollywood guys called me and said it came in today, so I went and grabbed it!

I need to change the strings, but even with the factory flats it plays as I knew it would. Hands down the best fretless I've ever had. So far....

Pics (from an Android!):

Geez! Now THAT is low action on a fretless!!! Now I need to play with the action on my ebmm sub 5 fretless again LoL.... I though it was low enough but after seeing your Brian model I need to rethink what "low" action really means ;-)

of course mine runs roundwound DRs which makes a difference...

This one showed up in the daily gallery on Carvin's Facebook page today... I'm personally really digging the color. I'm in the market for a new 5'er, and that's a d@mn good lookin' bass right there. Been looking for something a little different, maybe a B25 in "Cotton Candy Burst" might be the thing...?

5sg.

Sexy. I say go for it. Could you see that with a flame maple board?

Thanks for posting that one; I was debating an all-flamed-maple build as one of a few possible designs, and I didn't know what it would look like. Now I do! :)

I was also thinking a black stain on the body would look sharp. Ugh, so many choices. The imagination runeth over.

You can get the Radiused pick-ups in humbucking as well so maybe he just wanted flat pick up covers? Hey whatever works right?

A quick question for those that may have done this: I'm considering swapping out the RADJ single coil pickups I have in my fretless B25P for the RADH hum-buckers. Will I also have to install the Icon pre-amp as well?

I think the answer to this is yes, but I thought I'd ask to see if there was some work-around where I could keep the killer Bromberg pre-amp in my fretless. I'm just getting a little fed up with the single coil "bzzz" when favoring the bridge pup.

Thanks.

yeah I was thinking quilted maple top for body and headstock, in satin black. then a standard maple board, with black dots or diamonds.

If you go to RAD-H's, then yes. You will need to switch to the Icon P Pre. The 'Bromberg' Pre does not go at all with the HB's (I tried, by accident).

But don't worry. My B25 fretless sounds soooo sweet with HB's and the Icon pre and it is criminally comfortable. I literally just finished stringing a set of Sadowsky Light Gauge flats on it and the tonal spectrum it covers now is just nutty.

Me ever parting with either of my B25's? Fuggeddaboutit….
