brian moore?

Bought mine 6 years ago. One of the slimest necks I've played. Great sounding and playing instrument. Balance and fit are as good as any other quality bass in it's range.
They are under the radar and I have not been able to figure that outover the years. Brian Moore is well known and thought of in the guitar circles. Anyways, as a result they can be had fairly cheap used, @ $500.00-700.00.
Hope this helps. Questions ?

I've not played a Brian Moore bass, but I've owned several BM Guitars. One plain old dual humbucker and my current one with Midi/Piezo 13-pin in it that I play through a Roland VG-88.

Both are phenomenal as far as I'm concerned. Very nice sounding un-amplified, and even better amplified. Any guitar player I know that's picked it up has been blown away by them. Very versatile.

I've been wanting to sit down with one of their Basses but I just haven't gotten a chance, and my wants and needs bass wise lately just haven't fallen into that area.

Their guitars are great; I have one and it's bitchin'. Very comfortable to play and great sounding. Top notch, especially their custom models, but their production stuff is great too. As mentioned, no custom shop for basses though. Their production basses are nice as well, but I found them less comfortable to play. They have a similar body shape to the guitar, but the big size of the instrument overall made it not fit me particularly well. It played well otherwise, though. And I did think it was a solid sounding bass. Be aware that BM does not have the best resale, so used can be a great bargain!

Hi Y'all,

At the moment, it's my understanding that
Brian Moore Guitars has closed its doors.

To my knowledge, they are not currently producing
or shipping any new instruments, although their
website is still active for the moment.

Don't know how that will affect the resale value or not...
they were nice guitars!

Peace,
Martin

my bands guitarist owns a brian moore guitar its a i1000 or something ( i dont really know if thats even a model but it might be) anyways the guitar is very light weight and of good quality it sounds very nice even through his ****** amp, so i am assuming the basses are nice as well.

I've got a Moore i5 bass - wonderful instrument. Picked it up a few years ago when I had some serious GAS and was shopping in the 750-1000 range. Tried a few similar priced basses at a shop local to me - the Moore was by far and away the best. Very glad I grabbed it. Had never heard of them either. Super, super slim fully bound neck. Curved body (neck through), great sound. They offer a piezo equipped model as well, designated i5p, i4p, etc... would love to have found one. I once read that these basses are considered very high-end Korean construction - I agree. I have 11 basses and every now and then I come back to the i5 and remember why I love it.

I bought a Brian Moore I5 from Guitar Center, used with Hard Case for 600 OTD. They had it on the wall over a year, and nobody wanted it because it was a unknown. Hands down its the best bass I have ever owner. IT has one of the smoothest finished of anything they had there, the body curvature is awesome. I am so happy with this bass.

You can get them super cheap on ebay, this bass should cost well over 1000, but you can get them for under 500 if your lucky.

I cant tell you enought that this is a incredible instrument.

I want to get a 4 string next.

I picked up a Brian Moore i5bp a few years ago in a small shop for about 1K. 5-string, dual bartolini humbuckers (tapped for single-coil/bucker switching). I love the versatility, but sometimes it lacks the extremes. I can't get that Ernie Ball high-gain without the fat-poles. Nor can I get the extreme mellow sound of a passive P-bass. I can get close to those, and hit -every- tone in between... so I can deal. :D
