Bridge help needed

Hi!!

I've got an ibanez sr300 (I know it's not the most expensive bass out there but it's light & gives a good sound so I'm sticking with it....and it's bright red!!) Anyways, back to the point...I've found that when I play the bridge saddle seems to drop, especially on the E string so I then have to get out my trusty tool kit, raise it back up & re-tune!

I'm guessing it's because it's a cheap bridge and I play too heavy.

Can anyone recommend a good replacement bridge? Something that's gona hold the tuning and not let me down mid-gig?!

Want a cheap fix for a cheap bridge? Remove the height adjustment screws, apply a liberal coat of blue Loctite, re-insert, and adjust to proper height. Future adjustments are no problem. Just break the bond and adjust as you would normally. The cured Loctite "gums up" the works and minimizes the chance of loosening.

Mine had that to. Its common problem. They look to be qaulity bridges but for some reason they use adjustment screws that are a tad too narrow. Ibanez really should either replace the screws with ones with proper width or make the saddle holes slightly smaller imo. Loctite or similiar is best cure. Theyre otherwise good bridges imo, just not with right size screws provided for proper fit thru the saddle holes. Mine had that problem with the D string mainly and little with the A string. SR300 is about my fave Ibanez bass.

Even clear nail polish will work in a pinch. One thing to double check as you're setting the saddle heights: make sure each saddle is level (both screws on each saddle are the same height).

Thanks for the advice people - glad to hear it's not just me! I had an older ibanez (can't remember the model) and had the same issue & actually lost one of the screws mid practice!

Surely they must know that they aren't the right size!!

I knew it couldn't just be me who loves the SR300 ;o)
