Didn't see the posts Maki put up but he was always funny and added a I don't know what to the OT. I'm sure he will have understood the points now. I'm sure those he offended can practice that forgivness thing that's often preeched but maybe not practiced.
The whole of this thread is complaining about the actions of moderators/whinging abouit censorship etc. etc.
I would say all those who have complained in this thread should be banned and you can all go and join another site where you can post as much porn or whatever you want, to your heart's content!!

Well, JT did what needed to be done, but I guess I'll put in my $.02:
The reason this site is so successful is because we (meaning the mods, along with many long standing members) have spent more hours than we care to count putting in the time on this site to ensure it is a place where everybody can have a good time. That means we have to have rules, which means we can't please all people all the time. Does that mean some people have to compromise? Yes. Does is mean sometimes people will feel we're tyrannical sometimes? Hell, yes.
To those who are not completely satisfied with the way things are I will say this: TalkBass has ALWAYS been run the way it's been run and It's worked very well. We have never pretended to be something we're not, so please let's not have folks getting antsy about the way we do things.
We have striven for years to make this site the best music site on line and we were very successful. Some people might even say we're the best bass site online. I could say that, but I'm biased.
If we were so bad, the people who post to complain wouldn't have joined in the first place. If we are really that bad, well, folks don't have to stay. There are other forums out there and they're all very good. I'm sure they'll be happy to have the folks who feel we're not good enough for them.
Finally, If anyone's sent me a PM regarding the matter being discussed here, sit tight. I'll reply when I can.
