Britney Spears at the VMAs

Vandelay is right on when he said she shouldn't have tried dress like the person she used to be, and the outfit did invite criticism, but honestly, is that what passes for fat and out of shape these days? I just thought there were enough legitimate reasons to criticize her "performance" without cheap shots for not being incredibly thin.

I agree. 90% of the men who criticize Brittany don't have women in their lives who anywhere near as well built as her.:eyebrow:

Talentless hack yes. I don't think she looked bad at all for a mother of two as young as hers are. Is she back to the shape she was in at 16, pre kids and supposedly pre sex?? Nay. She's not in bad shape, all things considered. She's not fresh from lypo either, like "maybe" some of the others listed above. Hell, Demi was heavier in "about last night" than she is now, and she was pre kid then too. I mean had not yet birthed a child, not pre Ashton......

I think it was just a bad choice of venue for her return to show business (not the music business). Brittany may need to take time to decide what direction her future should take and carefully work out a plan to accomplish her goals. It seems this VMA appearance was thrown together too quickly and with too little thought (producer's fault!!). :scowl:

I agree with posts that say Brittany doesn't look bad. She doesn't. I also agree that she's not 16 anymore. She's 25 with two young kids. With a lot of work, she could get back into shape to perform like she did before. I'm not sure that’s the best direction though. She may be at a point where she develops something new, musically speaking, that fits her current life situation better. Broadway musicals? A set show in Vegas a la Celine Dion? Bottom line, I don't think her career is over (as the worthless pundants state), but I do think it needs to be reworked. IMO ;)

+1 Seriously. I kept looking at the photos and saying "Paunch? What paunch?" Come to country music, Britney honey! We'll love ya! We'll put you next to Wynonna! Just don't let her sit on you! :D

LOL Nice one! :D

I agree with everyone who said the whole show was a train wreck; because it was. I think it was their first year doing it live(?) and they really dropped the ball. The simultaneous parties concept was a good idea, but then they cut away in the middle of every song being performed, ultimately ruining the best part of the show--though, at the same time retaining the latter-day characteristics of their channel. However, I was SUPER impressed with timbaland. I thought he was good before, but after watching him loop those keyboard parts live, I was smitten. It was nice to see Patrick Stump (FOB) sing in tune (sorta). Can we talk about how sarah silverman needs to disappear from this earth? kthanks.
