Broke my TI Jazz JF344 D string while restringing. Am I screwed?

Yeah probably. Unless they're relatively new, maybe you could buy a single string and it'd blend with the others reasonably well?

I had this happen once with a TI. Shouldn't happen unless you did something horribly wrong so could be a defect. I wrote IT customer service and they had me mail them the old string (to review for quality control) and sent me a new one.

Contacting the company, if you believe it wasn't your fault (or even if you believe it was), wouldn't hurt.

Failing that, or alternatively engine-search the single-string part number - to wit: "JF34056", online, and find a store that sells to Singapore.

They didn't say "moribund", just "screwed".

I've used TIJFs for about 15 years and have had 2 TIJF strings break in the past year on 2 different basses. They were both newer strings and I'm a light-touch player. One broke at the ball end and one broke at the silk tuner end (was an uncut string). I've never had any string break on a bass other than these 2 and I've been playing since the late '70s.

I had same thing happen and got NO HELP from TI. The THIRD time I contacted them, they said “ a lot of our people are traveling “ and they would get back to me. (?)

That was 3 months ago. I’m done with them forever. If they were the only company making bass strings, I’d go back to playing trumpet.

I haven’t broken a bass string in years, maybe QC issues? At that price, they should replace it.

My G string broke while it was just sitting in the corner. It's the 2nd one I bought. I haven't bothered replacing it yet. You are not alone.
